Packaged so wonderfully! I was impressed with the care taken to ensure it arrived undamaged, and appropriate temperature. The container is super cute, and the chocolate exquisite!

Best Marzipan
If you are not a marzipan fan these would probably change your mind. Almonds, hazelnuts, and almonds made into a paste with creamy chocolate some rum and dipped in dark chocolate. I am a marzipan fan since I was a kid in Germany and these are the Best I have ever tasted. 😋😋

Mozart Balls are the Bomb
My only gripe about Mozart Kugeln (translates, somewhat humorously, to 'Mozart Balls', but who ever said English is a language of subtleties) is that they are really expensive. My German professor, while visiting her family over the holidays, thought about buying a box of these to bring back to our class since we opened with a unit on Austria, but they're expensive in Berlin, too. I didn't mind paying $35 for them, because I got the tin, which is really pretty. I keep little things in it. The candies themselves are balls (truffles, in a sense) of ground pistachios and almond paste (marzipan) and they're delicious. If you're careful unwrapping them (the foil wrapping covering each candy is very thin), you can smooth it out and hang it on your refrigerator with a magnet or something. The way I see it, the Germans designed the candy that way. After you eat it, you get to use all of that candy energy to focus on smoothing out the foil wrapper. A friend of mine from the 1980s whom I knew in Chicago used to bring these to me from trips abroad, and I always think of her when I get them. Hope you're doing well, Audree! Love to see you again.

the Best!1
Obviously I love the stuff cause I ordered several as gifts for Christmas.....and just heard back from a couple who, despite my instructions not to open, not to smell, not to taste, they did!!! and they LOVED them too!!! It's the richness of the chocolate and the right amount of marzipan and nuts that I savor and eat slowly to get the most out of this absolutely perfect concoction.

Best chocolate candy in existence?
Wow the prices have really jumped up for Mozart balls. Currently costing over a dollar per piece! That's on Amazon and in retail stores. And yet I splurged for the tin anyway. It's a really nice container with a well-fitting lid. One problem is removing the massive nutritional stickers stuck on the side. Perhaps the larger problem is what I should put in the tin after I eat all of them... More Mozart balls, maybe? If you're not sure which brand to get, GET THESE.

Delicious but all too pricy
First, the good: The chocolate is divine. The outside is a rich, dark semisweet shell, and once you bite into it you're greeted with a potent pistachio marzipan that is so strong that it tastes almost like liquor. The texture is thick and mildly grainy, packed with amazing flavor. In the core, a deliciously melty chocolate ganache dissolves on your tongue like butter. It's a delightful example of why imported chocolates are so appealing. That said, it's hugely expensive, and isn't something that you just buy casually. If you get this, you get it for a gift for someone very special, or you try it as a once-in-a-lifetime-never-to-be-tasted-again treat for yourself. I got mine for 40 bucks including shipping. For 15 small pieces of chocolate, I'm afraid I can't be doing that again, no matter how delicious it is. Still, everyone should try it at least once, particularly if you're a chocolate lover.
