No insult meant, but this book is written so well that you basically need to follow the process and not worry about missing any steps. Dempsey is an excellent writer who knows how to break things down into easy, simple processes no matter how big the topic may be that he is writing about.

Lack of details on how to raise fry. Did not describe amounts to feed and provide alternative options to live food. Also did not provide a growth chart for reference. Was expecting more from a book dedicated to breeding betta. I already own the Betta Bible and it has way more details than this book.

It isn't the best written or very informative for the true beginner.

Gives you a good insight for a beginner betta owner

Very easy to read and understand. Very useful information especially for the first time breeder. Would definitely recommend this title.

Very easy to follow, straight forward instructions. Nothing fancy just a list of steps. I feel like pictures of the steps would have been helpful. Especially when describing what to look for when they are ready etc.. Or even pictures of the supplies listed. Does the author not have a set up of his own to use as a reference for photos? Even the random pictures of Bettas sprinkled throughout are someone else's photos.
