Pull through sharpeners can be hard on blades. This ceramic version is much more gentle. It will work well for most people just wanting to hone an edge of an otherwise sharp blade. It's not really a full on sharpener, but a good, solid honing tool to bring an edge back into shape Ceramics are much easier on the edge of your blade. Other sharpeners of this type usually have carbide blades that remove far too much material and are super harsh to a knifes edge. To use this, check the angle that your knife is sharpened to and rest the knife in that guided angle "V" slot. The weight of the knife alone is enough to hone and maintain a sharp knife. If that won't do the trick, your knife needs a real sharpening. Great for using in the kitchen to maintain an edge. The BONUS is that it has 4 different angled guides and make for a great way to check the final bevel angle on a knife when you take it out of the drawer. I have knives sharpened for different purposes. Some are wider for a longer lasting edge. Others are more acute for sharper cutting. If I have two of the same knife sharpened at different angles, which is which when I pull it out of my tool box? This is a quick way to eyeball it and know.

Lansky's C-Sharp provides a a number of edge angle "V" sharpening configurations in a single unit using ceramic blades to do the sharpening action. In also includes a honing rod as well. Now this is a useful configuration for a variety of knife edge grinds, from ultra keen but not so durable edges to more heavy duty edges. Ceramic is a good choice for maintaining these edges, not for repair of damaged edges or heavily dulled edges - Lansky has a similar unit with carbide blades for that purpose. The metal body of this tool limits its selection as a take-to-the-field unit, but provides durability as a bench or toolbox tool for quickly dressing a variety of edge grinds.

I absolutely LOVE how this is portable and can fit in your pocket and can sharpen your knives while out in the field or away from your stone sharpener. Great value item for the price, I have a number of sharpeners and this one is now one of my favorites, holding the sharpener is easy once you figure out what’s best for you. Has 4 different angles to sharpen so it covers everything you will need all in one, they are easily marked so you are sure to use the correct angle. Recommend this for the everyday hunter personally as that’s what I’m using it for. Just throw it in your pocket and you are ready to go!

I have bought several different sharpeners, but unless you spend several hundred dollars for a professional sharpening solution, this works better than all of them. Plus, it is compact, I can reset an edge in a couple of minutes, and I get a better edge and sharpness than the other homeowner options. The value for the money is elite. Also, since there is no setup, I sharpen my knives more often. I can do it right before I start cooking, instead of putting it on my to-do list to carve out time later. I love it.

Excellent sharpener for household or hunting backpack. The multiple edge-angle slots are perfect for my Buck knives and other brands. Seems to be gentle on the blade, but gives a very sharp edge with few strokes.

It’s a good sharpener, but the lettering wears off easily. It is just painted on, not etched in. Have to take pictures to know what the angles are before the numbers wear off.

Auffällige Farbe, so dass es auch einfach gefunden wird, wenn es ein Kind mal liegen gelassen hat. Leider ist die Tabelle der verschiedenen Messer und ihrer Schleifwinkel nur auf der Verpacjkung, die nimmt man natürlich nicht mit in den Wald.
