I bought 3 of these and have never had to use them on a bear. However, I did test the spay of one can on a paper target, and it spreads extremely wide and lingers a while. I would say a 10 foot mist in width. I tested at 30 feet away and it worked perfectly. The spray time was about 7 seconds, and about 1 second extra of reduced pressure.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 27 year old grandson. He and friends travel to mountains area to rock climb. I researched and researched and found this bear repellent with the highest excellent rating. It can be harnessed to his climbing gear and keep close to him in the tent. It said to practice a few times to get the feel of how it works: I hope he doesn’t have the need to use it. It’s best to be prepared.

I bought this because this brand was recommended by some hikers I watch on Youtube (wasn't sponsored). I haven't had to use it, but it gives me some peace of mind. The carrying case works well and allows quick access. Recommend!

Highly recommended if you are going to be around predatory animals!! We bought the bear Spray for a multi-national park bucket list trip. I cannot really hike at this time as a cancer survivor with recent major surgery - but we thought better safe than sorry. We went stargazing at Badlands National Park and I was SO glad we had it there!! The safety tab glows in the dark for easy removal to deployment. I actually took off the safety tab to be at the ready - lol -there were coyotes howling not too far away. The safety tab was super easy to put back into place! Better to have and not need it… One of our bus tour guides from Yellowstone National Park recommended that one always carry bear spray a Yellowstone. We did see two Grizzlies there!

I will update this review pending the reply from the seller. I have carried this brand of Bear Spray for miles and miles. Thankfully I’ve never had to use it so I cannot attest to that. What I can tell you is that after so many miles, I’ve never had an issue with this getting in the way while hiking nor does it feel cumbersome or heavy. What I can say is that as soon as I pulled the holster out of the package, I saw a large cut right through the product label. I didn’t use any sharp instruments to open the packaging. In fact I just slipped the item out of the hole at the package bottom. I have reached out to the seller for a replacement holster. This holster will not hold up on a hike and I will lose this bear spray canister on the trail. Hopefully it’ll still be there if I ever have to reach for it! Update 4/26/22 Seller immediately contacted me after I reached out to them. They gave me a full refund that I could use to purchase a replacement. 👍🏼

I bought this for my trip to Glacier national park. Tested it in my backyard and it was intense. Did not get amy opportunities to use it in the park, though, which is good. I saw a lot of other visitors carrying the same brand.

Great self defense for large mammals especially made for Grizzly bear. Pay a little more and get their 10.2 ounce canister.

This is not an item you can really review without having had a close encounter with a bear. I have not discharged my bear spray and hope that I don’t have to. I bought this item based on reviews of people who have had to use it.
