East to install

I replaced 14 drawer pulls in about 10 minutes with the "break off" screws. I did not see any of the manufacturing defect that other reviewers have experienced. Out of the 15 I ordered, all of them were unblemished and threaded easily when the screw was cut to size and did not need a washer or any modification to fit tightly. If you can break off these screws as described, you are a beast and command my ultimate respect for your grip strength and being updated with a tetanus booster. Clearly these descriptions are translated and "break off" might be the most efficient translation and really it means "cut off." It does mean cut off with some kind tool (unless you are the previously referenced highly respectable pro-vaxx beast - we celebrate your glory). I used cutting pliers that I had previously used to cut uncoated aircraft cable and that took some hard squeezing in gloves as a tiny but motivated savage woman in midlife with decent grip strength and the right tools. If you don't have something that will cut the screws or don't care to get into it, just go buy some at the right length. I am very pleased with these. I will echo the complaints about all of the packaging. It is annoying, but hopefully you are updating what you have, upcyling or restoring a treasure, or making something work that would otherwise find its way in a landfill even if it's donated. So there is something there even though I don't love all the plastic. I reused the foam bags to repackage the still modern and in great condition drawer pulls I replaced and used one of the plastic bags to contain those screws. Those are in the reused box ready to go on Freecycle or a spend nothing group for someone else who is hopefully taking this same approach.
