Cavanagh Altar Bread - 1 1/8" Whole Wheat - 1000/Container

These are communion, you're not supposed to taste these.

These are perfect. There is more substance to them vs the white; the white is more like styrofoam. They are a bit thick, which is nice. The edges seem sealed and they don't crumble. A nice + (plus sign) in the middle of each round, front and back. They are easy to break into 2 or 4 sections. I have a small Pyx and 7 fit in without a problem, I could have fit a few more...plus there was plenty of room to stick my fingers in to pick one up from the stack of wafers. I don't see any broken pieces in the container. They shipped well. They taste fresh. They don't dissolve as quickly as the white wafers, so for elderly or the sick who have a problem with wafers, I would stick with the white. Or you can break these into quarters which would help. I would and will purchase these again. I use these for when I can't make true communion with a Consecrated Host. It is part of my daily, at home, spiritual communion during the week.

I do my own form of communion at home with the bread and the wine. I was making fresh bread but that got tedious to do communion every day. I bought a pyx because I'm making my own traveling alter kit. I'm not catholic I just follow Jesus. One of the things about him is his sacraments because there is wisdom in the stories of them and how they react with us and our spiritual quest. These aren't bad and I love that their bite sized pieces. I've tried the white ones that taste like rice paper. Everyone else said they taste like styraphome but I've had rice paper before and its just a thicker piece of it almost. I've also tried making my own small ones but again its just a bother. For someone who's looking for communion on the go or is wanting to try different things I'd say these are perfect especially for a family or one person. It's just me who does this every day so these should last for a while.

These wafers are exactly what I remember from Catholic Church with my Grandparents when I was a child. They taste just like Jesus should. My kids said they go best as a sandwich with cheese. They worked well for training treats with our new pup too.

This is awesome bread! I just wish that it would have a three day turnaround like it was like 3 months ago.

Not alway fresh in these big containers. Price is a little bit on the high side. Shipping pretty fast

I AM IN LOVE!!! These are so addicting to munch on. The whole wheat tastes 100x better than the white, which tastes like styrofoam. I honestly could eat these for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My family thinks I'm weird for eating altar bread and preferring to snack on it over chips or goldfish like "regular" people but I really don't care because it is so delicious and guilt-free! The only issue I have with it is that I wish it was less pricey.
