Sometimes the most rancid smelling things can taste like a thing of beauty... and that is this tea - stinky, buy yummy. Usually sleeping remedies don't work for me... and this one is no different - stinky and yummy, but no sleepie. Mixed with lemon and ginger it is devine!

It's strong! It put me to sleep and made it hard to get up the next morning for work. After a couple days using it, my husband and I had headaches, so I'd say be careful with long term use, or let the teabag steep for a shorter time if you notice a headache after using. But it's great. Keep it in a plastic bag inside the tea box; even though the bags are wrapped, valerian stinks. If it doesn't stink, it's not fresh, so just know that the stink means it's good, fresh tea. I like to mix it with an Egyptian Licorice teabag, because the licorice is naturally sweet and improves the flavor of the valerian.

I don’t write reviews because for the most part everyone in business doesn’t intend their products to be bad, but in this case, I need to say something and maybe like this I can have some clarity around this product. I bought it for the first time, and it smelled very bad ... rotten almost I could not bear the smell of this thing, so I threw it out. Does anyone know if this item has a distinct odor? I might've jumped the gun but if this is the way this stuff is supposed to smell man, I will never be able to buy that again.

Once packaging was opened, a very disagreeable Oder came from box. The tea is good but the smell forced me to go with the gelcaps

Would recommend to use to sleep or wind down. As it makes you feel slightly sleepy. And also has a unique taste to it.

Good tea

I’ve tried a few of these tea’s as I have trouble sleeping, and this is by far the best one! The taste isn’t very nice, however what I do I put a strong mint or piece of chewing gum in the bottom of the cup and pour boiling water over it, then add the tea bag a few minutes later and let it brew, it really does help a lot with the taste.

For anybody intimately familiar with Valerian root odour and is rolling their eyes at the title, spare me the patronising tone for one moment. I got this stuff as it was advertised as a sleep agent. Yes it qualifies as that, but only by virtue of lifting to high heaven of god-knows-what and knocking you out in the process. The smell is insanely powerful and omnipresent. One small packet stunk out our entire apartment. I had to get rid of it fast so put the last 15 bags in a teapot and drank that. You'd think it would have some pretty effective sedation at that strength, but nope. So it barely works either. Spare your time, nostrils, and money — just get a Yorkshire tea bedtime brew. If you're reading this with some skepticism, fine. I implore you, just buy and try it. See if I'm lying. I double-dare you. There is no hyperbole with the smell. If anything I'm underselling it. It's utterly rancid.
