My son loves this
The only bad thing is this is small and I have had to buy these a few times because my son has a habit of losing them. Good price on Amazon co parents Dick's so I usually have an extra on hand now. Great stocking stuffer for your ballplayer!

Shock reduction
This product is as advertised, my son noticed less sting in his hands and now we have to see if it helps to increase his bat speed.

Want to take the sting out of hitting?
The Good: -Works we’ll -Takes sting out of hitting it off the end of the bat -Easy to use The Bad: -A but expensive The Bottom Line: My kid really likes this thumb protector as he says it helps him grip the bat better and takes some of the sting out of hitting it off the end of the bat. The only thing I would say is a negative is that it is a bit expensive. But I would still recommend this for kids and adults as a hitting aid.

Good product. For the price it's worth a shot.
My son says he notices a positive difference with his hand placement when batting. Will continue to use.

It gets dirty and brown
Daughter approves! Size was true and stretchy rubber makes it an ease to put on and remove. It may seem "tight" out the package but quickly stretches out just slightly while remaining tight. Ordered two white ones as others suggested in case you lose one and white is easier to see. I found this to be true, looking for something this small and the inside of her bag is black, the white stands out a lot. It gets dirty and brown, haven't tried washing it and I'm not sure if it's worth it. She wears it every time she swings a bat. The material is stretchy enough that even I could put it on, I'm not a large male with big hands, just average. I wouldn't recommend ordering the wrong size on purpose but I was just curious to see what'd happen. It's rubber so I don't see any breakdown or signs of wear other than dirt. "Getting used to" it happened within a dozen or so balls, according to my 10 year old. At first it seemed to affect her first few swings dramatically, adjusted the position slightly, and then just as suddenly the swing went back to "normal" shortly after. This was fresh start of BP so I always expect the first dozen or so balls is adjustments to timing and movements etc. It really does move the bat out of the palm which is often something I see/hear being taught but kids won't remember that kind of stuff at the plate so this aid is autocorrection on the spot. My girl says that she can tell the difference in the way the hands move with it on and off. Reducing sting is really good she says. She swings both a composite and an overweight wood bat at BP once in a while and hits both softballs and baseballs. I'm honestly not sure how good this is for reducing sting since I'm not wearing it and going off of her feedback. I will also say that the material is very well shaped to fit the contour of the inside area of the thumb. Funny enough when we opened the package and it fell out my daughter and I both laughed. She said it looked like a boiled egg with a hole in it and that was the exact same thing that went through my head. I would just say get 2 or 3 depending on how likely your kid or yourself forgets things, etc. It's small.

Decent teaching tool
The Prohitter Training Aid is a decent tool to develop correct grip and hand/finger alignment, but is just that, a tool. Some of the voodoo and magic promises of this device are rather comical, and I think derive from hype and marketing. The Prohitter did help to reinforce bat placement in the fingers, and consequently helped hand/wrist extension, but this is not a new idea, nor is the Prohitter essential to achieve proper extension. I just finished reading The Science of Hitting by Ted Williams, and he has a whole lot to say about this topic. There is no shortcut or simple way to get better at hitting - work, study, adapt, and use every resource available.
